Rhyme Finder
Type a word and get real rhymes, ordered from the closest match to the loosest.
Rhymes by sound, not by spelling
Songwriting is not about words that look alike, it is about words that sound alike when you sing them. This tool works from pronunciation and compares everything from the stressed vowel to the end of the word — which is where a rhyme is actually decided.
That is why love does not rhyme with move even though only one letter changes, while through rhymes perfectly with true. Spelling lies; the sound does not.
Perfect rhymes and near rhymes
Perfect rhymes match every sound from the stressed vowel onwards. Near rhymes share the stressed vowel but not the ending — slant rhymes, the backbone of modern rap, pop and R&B writing.
Results are sorted by accuracy first and by length second, so short, singable words come up before the long ones.
English and Spanish, without picking a language
Type heart and you get English rhymes only. Type corazón and you get Spanish only. When a word could belong to both languages we ask instead of guessing.
Frequently asked questions
How are the rhymes calculated?
With a phonetic algorithm and a dictionary, entirely inside your browser. No AI is involved and no words are invented — if a word is not in the dictionary it will not appear.
What is the difference between perfect and near rhymes?
Perfect rhymes match all sounds from the stressed vowel. Near rhymes share the vowel but differ in the consonants around it.
Why is a word missing?
The bundled dictionary is broad but not exhaustive. We would rather leave a word out than invent one.
